Just so you can get to know them a little better, so this month I Beverlee will start it off with her story.
I have been in the church since I was 19yrs old. I came in as a young solo mum as this was the church my sister Kim was in. God was not a stranger to me, as my mum (Sue Packer) had taught me about having a relationship with God, it’s just at that point of my life I thought I could do without God, so I went off and did my own thing.
It wasn’t too long down the track that the life I was leading was not one that I wanted for me or my girls, so I moved to Paraparaumu and started to come to church again.
Back then I would strive so hard to do what I thought was right and what God wanted from me, or sometimes what I thought people wanted only to learn that it was the wrong thing to do as I was constantly slipping up and falling short of what I had thought a good little Christian girl should be.
Over the years I have made heaps of mistakes taken wrong turns and gone down some dark paths only to find God waiting for me to clean my wounds, heal my hurts and brighten my paths.
The last 19 yrs what I have learnt is God does take me for me, He still loves me when I lose the plot and don’t want to do this anymore.
He still loves me when I take wrong turns in life and when I think I know better.
He’s like my big Daddy saying, “Bev are you ready yet cause ill just wait here until you are.”
Then when I do get back on track, we pick up from where we left off and carry on with my life journey.
God is too big in my life now to live without Him. I’ve learnt that no matter what comes my way the good the bad the ugly that he’s there with me he’s a gentleman and just waits till I come to Him then he leads me, shows me and loves me through it.
So ladies, I look forward to walking this year out with you all, to watch God heal, bless and love you to the next level in your life …let the journey begin.
